Locate My IP ("we", "our", "the App") is a network diagnostic tool. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We are committed to privacy by design: we collect as little data as possible and never sell your personal information.

2. Information We Process

When you use the App, the following occurs:

• Public IP address. To show your IP and approximate location, your public IP is sent to our own backend proxy. It is used only to answer your request and is not stored long-term, sold, or shared with third parties.
• Approximate location. Derived from your IP (city-level only). We never access your device's GPS or precise location.
• On-device detection data. VPN status, proxy settings, and IPv6 connectivity are calculated entirely on your device and never leave it.

3. What We Do Not Collect

• No account, no sign-in, no name or email.
• No advertising identifiers (IDFA/IDFV).
• No cross-app or cross-website tracking.
• No precise GPS location.

4. Third-Party Services

IP lookups are performed by our own backend, which may query public IP-geolocation data providers (e.g., ip-api.com, ipapi.is). Your IP is relayed through our proxy so that these providers see our server, not your device directly.

5. Data Retention

We do not retain your IP address or derived location after the request completes. Detection history, if any, is stored locally on your device and can be cleared by you at any time.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your region (such as the EEA/UK under GDPR or California under CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data. Since we store almost no personal data, these requests are straightforward to honour — contact us below.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
